Scottsdale's Green Street
The Scottsdale Convention & Visitors Bureau, along with the City of Scottsdale and the Scottsdale Cultural Council are planning an event called Green Street Scottsdale for the night of Thursday, November 12. This free event is being held in honor of the 2009 Greenbuild International Conference & Expo, which takes place in downtown Phoenix November 11 -13. This conference serves as the primary source for green building and typically attracts up to 30,000 attendees, which is why the City of Scottsdale felt it important to showcase the city’s sustainability initiatives. This has translated into an event that will take place from the ArtWalk along Main and Marshall to a Latin Jazz concert and beer festival on Marshall Way Bridge (and much more!).
Since the event does not take place in one concentrated area, people will most likely be using the trolley to get around for the evening. We’ll have ambassadors along the street and at key information tables in the area to help answer questions and direct traffic A map and brochure piece for the evening is currently being developed and will be distributed prior to the event (look for it in late October). In the meantime, please check www.GreenStreetScottsdale.com for up-to-the-minute information on activities taking place that weekend.

Shop, Dine & Discover Your Downtown Scottsdale!
One of our fabulous and talented trolleys operators came to us with an idea a few months ago..."why don't we create a value added card to draw locals into Scottsdale and help boost the economy..." The idea of the Trolley "T" card was born. The team at Ollie the Trolley in conjunction with the Scottsdale Downtown Group have implemented this great campaign.

The “You Want It, We Got It” promotion encourages local living in a way that takes advantage of local services, businesses and amenities. To help encourage local shopping in downtown Scottsdale a new “T” Trolley Card is available to trolley riders and downtown business to encourage residents to ride the trolley and patronize downtown businesses. Use of the “T” Card at participating downtown businesses entitles card holders to discounts and specials. Just look for the 'T' in the window of participating businesses. Cards are available now and are distributed to neighborhood connector and downtown trolley riders, downtown businesses, and at the city of Scottsdale Downtown Office located at 4248 N. Craftsman Court. Cards can also be obtained by calling (480) 312-7750.
