Scottsdale's Green Street

The Scottsdale Convention & Visitors Bureau, along with the City of Scottsdale and the Scottsdale Cultural Council are planning an event called Green Street Scottsdale for the night of Thursday, November 12. This free event is being held in honor of the 2009 Greenbuild International Conference & Expo, which takes place in downtown Phoenix November 11 -13. This conference serves as the primary source for green building and typically attracts up to 30,000 attendees, which is why the City of Scottsdale felt it important to showcase the city’s sustainability initiatives. This has translated into an event that will take place from the ArtWalk along Main and Marshall to a Latin Jazz concert and beer festival on Marshall Way Bridge (and much more!).

Since the event does not take place in one concentrated area, people will most likely be using the trolley to get around for the evening. We’ll have ambassadors along the street and at key information tables in the area to help answer questions and direct traffic A map and brochure piece for the evening is currently being developed and will be distributed prior to the event (look for it in late October). In the meantime, please check www.GreenStreetScottsdale.com for up-to-the-minute information on activities taking place that weekend.
